Overview

Open-range, milk-fed spring lamb from a family sheep farm and woolly weed-control operation.

Napa Valley Lamb Company is a family sheep farm run by Don and Carolyn Watson, with their children Andrea and Donny as part of the operation. The business grew out of the Watsons' work in Australia and New Zealand studying sheep husbandry before they returned to establish a herd and supply open-range, milk-fed lamb to acclaimed restaurants in Northern California. The lamb the farm is known for is its milk-fed spring lamb, sold as a petit whole carcass at two to five months old, with carcass weights from 30 to 40 pounds. Alongside its lamb production, the business operates Rocky Mountain Wooly Weeders, a sheep-based mowing and weed-control service for vineyards, cropland, parks, and open space across the region from the Pacific Coast to the Rocky Mountains.
