My Dad & Me Family Farm is a 130-acre family farm in Piedmont, Alabama raising 100% Registered Jersey cows for grass-fed, A2A2 raw milk. The farm sells its milk full-cream, non-pasteurized, and non-homogenized, and also offers raw milk yogurt, kefir, cream, and grass-fed beef in multiple cuts. Pastured Freedom Ranger broiler chickens, pastured eggs, pork, freshly milled flour, honey, granola, and fermented products round out a broad product list. Products are available at the on-farm store at 463 Pike Road and through membership-based co-op drops serving the Birmingham area and Marietta, Georgia. My Dad & Me Family Farm's Jersey herd is 100% grass-fed, with no grain fed at any time. Cows graze rotationally, moved twice daily to fresh paddocks for roughly eight to nine months of the year, and drink from Tawana Springs water filtered to remove chlorine with no fluoride added. During winter months, the herd receives Certified Organic Alfalfa Baleage, local hay from unsprayed fields, and Free Choice Enterprises minerals. Pastures are maintained with Certified Organic fish emulsion, Sea-90 sea salt, and Coral Calcium. The herd is bred toward 100% A2A2, polled genetics using Registered New Zealand grass-fed bulls. No antibiotics are used in the mammary gland or feed; cows are cleaned with organic soap, and health issues are addressed with organic olive oil and essential oils. Freedom Ranger broilers and laying hens are raised on pasture in portable chicken tractors or an Egg Mobile, fed New Country Organics soy-free feed. Broilers are family-processed with no chlorine baths.
