Family farm and year-round market specializing in Pueblo chile, seasonal produce, grass-fed beef, and fire-roasted chile.
Milberger Farms is a family-run operation on St. Charles Mesa in Pueblo, Colorado, farming over 400 acres of land. Shane Milberger began farming in 1986, and the enterprise has grown to involve the entire Milberger family across multiple generations. The farm grows more than 50 varieties of vegetables, with Pueblo chile and spring asparagus among its signature crops. The season runs from the asparagus harvest in spring through a large Pueblo chile harvest in summer and a pumpkin harvest in fall. The on-site market is open year-round and carries seasonal produce, frozen fire-roasted chile, grass-fed beef, handmade baked goods, and locally sourced products including salsa, honey, jams, and cheeses. A full-service breakfast and lunch operation runs alongside the market.
Milberger Farms uses sustainable farming practices and works to keep its crops free from harmful chemicals. Pueblo chiles are harvested by hand, and the farm freezes fire-roasted chiles in the fall so they are available year-round. The farm also sells products from neighboring farms, supporting local agriculture across the region. It offers educational tours and workshops for schools and community groups, and makes its patio available for outside events. Milberger Farms is registered with the Food and Drug Administration as a food producer and voluntarily participates in USDA external audits for Good Agricultural Practices and Good Handling Practices.
