USDA-inspected butcher shop and meat processing facility sourcing from New England farms
Meatworks is a USDA-inspected, multi-species slaughter and meat processing facility operating under The Livestock Institute of Southern New England, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Its retail store carries fresh, locally sourced beef and pork, including house-made sausage and bacon produced on site, alongside a selection of local gourmet foods. Customers can place special orders for half or whole animals, including beef, pork, lamb, and goat, as well as custom cut requests for specific cuts or bulk items such as soup bones and suet. All meats are procured directly from trusted New England producers and processed with full traceability from farm to table. Refrigerated van delivery is available Monday through Friday for both producers and retail customers.
Meatworks operates under strict humane-handling and food-safety standards as a USDA-inspected facility. All beef and pork sold in the retail store is sourced from a network of New England farmers, with full traceability maintained throughout processing. The facility offers custom labeling with farm name and logo for producers, supporting transparency from producer to consumer. Every animal is processed with attention to consistent quality standards, and the facility supports small and mid-sized farms across the region.
