Lovejoy Farm raises grass-finished, pasture-raised beef on a small farm in Bosque County, Central Texas. The cattle operation has been built over more than 20 years, with grass finishing added approximately seven years ago. Customers can reserve a whole or half beef directly from the farm, and the team follows up with upcoming slaughter dates and current pricing. The farm also encourages "cowpooling", a way for families or friends to split a beef together. Lovejoy Farm welcomes prospective customers to visit and see where their food comes from.
Lovejoy Farm raises its cattle with no antibiotics or growth hormones. The farm has been free of chemical fertilizers for over 23 years, and the land is managed without digging, plowing, cultivating, re-seeding, fertilizing, or spraying. Pastures are described as self-sustaining, producing a blend of grass, legumes, and forbs through natural soil microbe activity. The farm practices rotational stewardship to avoid overgrazing, giving each animal ample pasture. Beef is both grass-fed and grass-finished, raised and finished on the farm in Central Texas.
