Overview
Small farm growing organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and nuts using sustainable and regenerative practices.
Lost Acres Farm, LLC is a small farm on nearly 42 acres in Franklin County, Kentucky, operated by a married couple. The farm grows organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and nuts for sale, offering individual item purchases as well as a weekly boxed CSA pick-up program with produce and herb boxes. Orders can be picked up on-farm by appointment, or at a secondary off-farm location. The farm is also home to several adopted rescued animals. In addition to produce, Lost Acres Farm offers on-farm yoga and wellness activities including sport nutrition sessions and personal training. Learn more on their About Page.
Lost Acres Farm grows its produce without GMOs or synthetic sprays, using biological control methods to manage weeds, insects, and disease. Many items on its produce list are labeled organic. The farm practices no-till and cover cropping to reduce soil erosion, uses on-site aged manure for melon mounds, and home-grown hay for mulch and weed barriers. Composting and manure from on-farm stalls are incorporated into garden soil more than 120 days prior to harvest. Water quality and conservation measures include rotational grazing, limiting livestock access to streams, and field buffers to absorb runoff. The farm also uses rainwater collection and works to reuse renewable resources to maintain ecological balance. Lost Acres Farm holds the Kentucky Proud designation and displays a certified organic seal on its produce pages.
