Long Meadow Ranch

Long Meadow Ranch runs a full-circle organic farming system in which each part of the ranch supports the health of the whole. Its 150-plus acres of vineyards in Napa and Anderson Valleys are farmed under organic practices certified by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). An on-site composting operation turns organic material from the crop fields and chicken manure into fertilizer, which returns to the land each spring. Highland cattle at Tomales Station are pasture-raised, grass-fed and grass-finished under a fully hormone- and antibiotic-free protocol, and the herd rotates to fresh pasture seasonally. Heirloom fruits, vegetables, and eggs from Ameraucana and other heritage-breed chickens supply the Farmstead restaurant and farmers' market. Honeybees pollinate orchards, gardens, and vineyards while producing the ranch's organic honey. Solar energy powers commercial and residential operations across the property.
