Vegetable and flower CSA farm on 4 acres in Amherst, MA, growing regenerative produce.
Little Light Farm is a vegetable and flower operation leasing 4 acres on Amethyst Farm, just a mile from Amherst Center. The farm is run by Emmy Smela, who brings over a decade of experience in the local food and agriculture world of Eastern Massachusetts. Little Light Farm offers a 20-week summer vegetable CSA share, a seasonal pick-your-own flower CSA, and a fall bi-weekly vegetable share. Members pick up their share on the farm, and pick-your-own fields are also open to CSA members throughout the season. The farm also sells produce at the Easthampton Farmers Market on Sundays and operates a weekly farmstand. A work-share program is available for those who wish to trade labor for a CSA share.
Little Light Farm grows vegetables using regenerative and low-till farming methods. The farm's own description notes that all vegetables in its shares are either certified organic or grown following organic guidelines. While most CSA produce comes directly from the farm, the farm occasionally sources additional items from organic-certified farms in the local area to ensure consistent abundance. The summer vegetable share features pick-your-own sections where members harvest directly from the fields.
