Pesticide-free lavender farm offering dried bundles, sachets, plants, and lavender oil.
Lazy River Lavender is a family-owned, 14-acre lavender farm established in 2022 on land that has been in the family since 1933. Founded by Kristi Keiffer, who returned to her family's Madera property after time away on the coast, the farm carries a name inspired by her great-grandmother, who called the property "Lazy River Ranch." Kristi partnered with David Gonzales, a lavender expert whose family has farmed lavender in the Pacific Northwest for generations, and together they cultivate over 40,000 lavender plants. The farm grows both English Lavender and Intermedia French Lavender and offers dried bundles, sachets, potted plants, lavender buds, and distilled lavender oil. Learn more on their About Page.
Lazy River Lavender grows all of its lavender without the use of pesticides or herbicides, relying on natural fertilizers instead. The farm prioritizes water conservation by using repurposed water from aquaculture to irrigate its fields. Crops are hand-tended, with hands-on weed control and planting, and the farm has plans to incorporate natural grazing methods in the future. Dried lavender bundles are hand-harvested and wrapped in natural jute. Lavender oil is distilled from hand-harvested plants.
