Multi-generational organic orchard growing over 100 varieties of tree fruit, kiwi, and dried fruit in California's Central Valley.
Blossom Bluff Orchards is a family farm on the bluff of the Kings River in California's San Joaquin Valley, with roots on the property going back to 1931. The Loewen family, now spanning three generations on the farm, cultivates over 100 varieties of tree fruit and kiwi across roughly 78 acres. The primary season runs spring through fall, with peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, and pluots ripening in succession from May through September. Through autumn and winter, the farm produces persimmons, pomegranates, kiwifruit, and citrus. Dried fruit, including peaches and nectarines, is also available when fresh stone fruit is out of season. Blossom Bluff Orchards sells at Bay Area and Central Valley farmers markets and ships fruit directly to buyers. Learn more on their About Page.
All fruit at Blossom Bluff Orchards is certified organic by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers), with crop certification dating to 2006. The farm is also certified by the Real Organic Project. Fruit is harvested at peak maturity into bucket-sized totes, then sorted, sized, and packed by hand. Because the farm operates within a narrow delivery window, it allows fruit to ripen further on the tree before harvest, a practice the family describes as a key point of difference from large-scale operations.
