Pasture-raised eggs and egg-derived products from a holistic small farm in Illinois.
Koukol Farms, operating under the name Momma's Eggs, is a small family farm in Woodstock, Illinois run by Melodie and Jerry Koukol. The farm raises pastured chickens and sells pasture-raised eggs alongside a range of products derived from those eggs, including eggshell capsules, eggshell toothpaste, and skincare. Kale capsules and beets round out the product lineup. The farm is licensed by the State of Illinois and is subject to random state inspections. Pickup is available at the farm by appointment. Koukol Farms raises its chickens without antibiotics or wormers, relying instead on natural methods to maintain flock health. The chickens are pastured and supplemented year-round through a fodder system that sprouts barley, wheat, oats, and legumes, all non-GMO, so the birds have access to fresh micro-greens even in winter. The farm also produces homemade kefir and kombucha, which are added to the chickens' water as natural probiotics. To provide live protein and amino acids in winter, the farm operates its own worm farm using non-GMO feed; the worm castings are cycled back into the fodder water as an additional probiotic source. Oregano oil and thyme are used as part of the flock's ongoing care.
