Iron Springs Ranch is a regenerative cattle and farming operation in Skull Valley, Arizona, founded in 2019 by Troy and Claire Eckard. The ranch began with a 43-acre home property and expanded to include the neighboring A Bar V Ranch, which carries a 400-acre conservation easement and over 5,000 acres of state land lease. Iron Springs Ranch raises Angus and Angus Cross cattle on native grasses and perennial forage, selling beef by the cut or in bulk quarter, half, and whole quantities. The ranch also produces pasture-raised chicken, turkey, and poultry sausages made from whole muscle birds raised on its regenerative pastures. Holistically managed orchards yield fruit products available to Beef Club members and at the Prescott Farmers Market. Iron Springs Ranch practices regenerative ranching with soil health at the center of its land management approach. Cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished; they are never given grain and are never confined to feedlots. The ranch uses rotational and mob grazing to mimic natural herd movement patterns, allowing pastures time to rest and recover between grazing cycles. Additional practices include bale grazing, cover crops, pasture diversity through overseeding, and invasive species control through grazing and mowing. Cattle work the land by trampling organic matter into the soil and depositing natural fertilizer, supporting a cycle in which healthier soil feeds the herd. Poultry is pasture-raised and supplemented with certified organic, GMO-free feed. The ranch operates without pesticides, herbicides, hormones, or chemical inputs.
