Family farm growing 100+ varieties of vegetables and cut flowers in Northern Arizona
Whipstone Farm is a family-owned farm founded in 1995 by Cory Rade, who began selling surplus garden produce door-to-door. Shanti joined the operation in 2003, helping to expand it and launch the CSA program. The farm has grown from a quarter-acre plot to approximately 20 acres, producing more than 100 varieties of vegetables and cut flowers year-round. Produce and flowers are available through weekly CSA shares, farmers markets, an honor-system farm stand at the property entrance, and at natural food stores, restaurants, and florists across Arizona. The farm also grows cut flowers for weddings and events. Learn more on their About Page.
Whipstone Farm does not use synthetic fertilizers or chemical pesticides. The farm follows sustainable and regenerative farming practices with the goal of continuously improving soil health and supporting biological communities. To that end, it employs cover cropping, crop rotation, integrated pest management, beneficial insects, pollinator habitat, and crop diversity. The farm also uses drip irrigation and row covers to manage the demands of Arizona's high-desert climate.
