Hoosier Heritage Farm is a family-owned farm in operation since 1947, when the founding family purchased the land. The farm raises and sells grass-fed beef, grass-fed dairy, pastured pork, pastured poultry, pastured eggs, pastured lamb, and raw local honey. Customers can shop through an on-farm retail store, order online for home delivery, or pick up orders at the farm. Hoosier Heritage Farm raises its animals on pasture with grass and sunshine, using no growth hormones, no antibiotics, and no genetically modified organisms. Beef cattle are Angus cross-bred; meat chickens are Cornish Cross birds raised free range. The laying flock consists of three heritage breeds: Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, and White Plymouth Rocks. Turkeys are Broad Breasted Whites raised on grass. The farm keeps several pig varieties, selecting for body proportion rather than breed. On the crop side, the farm uses a minimum of industrial fertilizers and chemicals. Soil protection and improvement have been part of the farm's land management approach since its founding.
