Historic Indiana farm raising 100% grass-fed Red Devon beef, with a barn wedding and event venue.
For-Lou Farms has been a working farm since 1942, when Forest and Louise Sparks purchased the land and built the iconic dairy barn in 1947 for their Guernsey herd. Evan and Lori Divine purchased the farm in 2018 and transitioned it to raising Red Devon beef cattle. The farm sells beef in pre-configured bundles, from an eighth to a whole animal, covering steaks, roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts such as brisket and short rib. The historic dairy barn now doubles as a wedding and event venue, offering separate indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces. Due to an ongoing herd-rebuilding phase, beef orders are currently filled from a waitlist. Learn more on their About Page.
For-Lou Farms raises a Red Devon herd that is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, never moved to grain. The farm uses intensive rotational grazing and pursues increased plant diversity as tools for managing the land. Its stated long-term goal is a regenerative farming model: reducing its carbon footprint, improving soil health, and leaving the land in better condition than it was found. The farm avoids reliance on pesticides and insecticides, describing its cattle as natural contributors to land management through grazing and manuring rather than machinery and chemicals.
