Honeywood Farms is a diversified livestock and market garden operation raising pasture-raised cattle, pigs, and chickens alongside a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The farm grows produce across all four seasons, from salad greens and asparagus in cooler months to tomatoes, squash, blueberries, and peaches in summer. All produce and meats are sold directly off the farm through a farm store, a market cafe serving lunch and dinner, and a seasonal CSA. The cafe menu draws on the farm's own harvest as well as its livestock.
Honeywood Farms raises heritage breed cattle, pigs, and chickens, favoring these breeds for their hardiness and ability to thrive on natural forages. Livestock are intensively grazed on open pasture using lightweight portable fencing, giving animals a constant supply of fresh forages while allowing the farm to manage land impact precisely. Animals are never administered antibiotics, artificial growth hormones, or fed genetically modified food. Produce is grown under OMRI guidelines for organic food production. To reduce reliance on off-farm inputs, the farm practices extensive composting of animal manures, wood chips, garden waste, and kitchen scraps, plants cover crops on all beds not in active production, and uses mulching to retain soil moisture and build organic matter.
