Pasture-raised Mangalitsa heritage pork and lamb, raised on a veteran-owned Texas farm and sold direct.
Honey Pot Farmstead is a veteran-owned heritage-breed farm in Corsicana, Texas, specializing in Mangalitsa pork and pasture-raised lamb. The farm was founded after the owners discovered the Mangalitsa breed through a blind taste test comparing it against Berkshire, Kurobuta, and Iberico pork. Honey Pot Farmstead raises roughly 250 animals per year, with sows bred once annually and litters of 5 to 6 piglets, each slow-grown for 16 or more months. Cuts are sold direct to consumers as individual cuts, curated boxes, hog shares (whole, half, or quarter), and monthly subscriptions. The farm's founder is a service-disabled Navy veteran, and veterans and first responders receive a standing 10% discount. Learn more on their About Page.
Honey Pot Farmstead raises registered Mangalitsa hogs, including Red Mangalitsa and Swallow Belly lines, on Texas pasture with lake access to keep animals cool through summer. The farm's land includes acres of live oaks that drop acorns each fall, allowing for natural acorn finishing, a practice the farm compares to the Spanish Iberico pata negra tradition. Animals are raised with no antibiotics, no hormones, and no soy, and are slow-grown for 16 or more months rather than the six-month cycle typical of commodity pork. All animals are USDA processed. The farm works directly with Mangalitsa breeders across the US as part of a broader effort to support the breed's recovery, and staff are present for every birth.
