Pasture-raised beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and raw dairy from a family-run Southern Indiana farm.
Grass Corp is a pasture-based farm founded in 2001 by Stan and Martha Steckler, who both grew up on small dairy farms in Southern Indiana. In 2005 the family relocated to their current home in the rolling hills of Perry County to grow their direct-marketing operation. The farm raises 100% grass-finished beef and lamb, pasture-raised pork, pasture-raised chicken and turkey, pasture-raised eggs, and 100% grass-fed raw dairy products, including raw milk and aged raw-milk cheese. Products are available through a network of scheduled pickup locations across Southern Indiana, with no shipping offered. Grass Corp raises all animals without antibiotics, hormones, or vaccines. Cattle and other ruminants are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, never receive grain, and are rotationally grazed on high-quality pasture. Raw dairy from Normande and Jersey breeds is unpasteurized, unhomogenized, and follows the same 100% grass-fed, no-grain protocol. Raw-milk hard cheeses are aged a minimum of 60 days. Laying hens graze pasture inside portable fencing moved every day or two, with access to a mobile egg shelter. Broiler chickens and turkeys live in bottomless shelters moved to fresh pasture at least daily. Pigs are raised outdoors, rotating through pasture and woodland. Poultry, pigs, and laying hens get a grain ration mixed on the farm from non-GMO corn and soybeans sourced from local farmers; all grains are glyphosate-free. Animals graze high-quality pasture during the growing season; otherwise they receive high-quality hay from local farmers. All animals also receive salt and minerals.
