Family-owned specialty farm growing Texas elderberries and producing Elderberry Wellness Syrup.
Floating O Farms is a family-owned and operated specialty farm in Bogata, in the heart of Red River County, Texas. Founded in 2015 by Jason and Dani Morris, the farm released its first product, Elderberry Wellness Syrup, in February 2018. The Morris family's roots in wild harvesting and raising Texas elderberry plants stretch back to the early 1990s, when Jason's mother Charlotte discovered the plant while researching the family's Cherokee heritage and began making elderberry syrup from her own recipes. Floating O Farms describes itself as the first and only commercial elderberry producer in Texas. The farm grows two elderberry varieties: Sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis and Sambucus nigra. Products are sold direct and through retail locations, with wholesale options also available. Learn more on their About Page.
Floating O Farms plants, maintains, and harvests its elderberry bushes by hand in the nutrient-rich, sandy clay soil of Northeast Texas. The bushes are irrigated by a natural aquifer located 300 feet below the surface. The farm uses no pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, synthetic fertilizers, or chemicals of any kind. Elderberries are harvested, sanitized, and frozen the same day they are picked. The Elderberry Wellness Syrup is produced in a globally licensed and certified processing facility, with third-party testing used to monitor quality. The syrup contains no artificial sweeteners, fillers, thickeners, or preservatives.
