Ebert Family Farm is a raw milk dairy and diversified farm based in Byers, Colorado, producing unpasteurized, unhomogenized milk alongside grass-fed beef, pastured pork, eggs, and chicken. The farm has been focused on raw milk quality and safety since 2005. Its dairy herd is approximately 85 percent Jersey cows, milked once per day and bottled in glass jars. Raw milk and dairy products are available to members through a cow-share program, with pickup at distribution sites across the Denver metro area and other Colorado locations. Beef, available by the quarter, side, or whole, comes from the male offspring of the dairy herd. Ebert Family Farm feeds its dairy cows no grain at any point in their lives. The herd grazes year-round on about 640 acres of native grass pasture, with certified organic alfalfa supplemented in winter. A small daily milking ration contains 85 percent certified organic alfalfa, palm oil, molasses, and mineral. The farm's land is certified organic. No hormones are used on the cows. Antibiotics are used only in rare cases of serious illness, and milk is withheld from distribution after any treatment. The farm is transitioning its herd to A2/A2 genetics and reports its milk is currently 97 percent A2. Milk is bottled unpasteurized and unhomogenized, and jars are sanitized with food-grade hydrogen peroxide. Laying chickens are housed cage-free and fed organic corn, flax, millet, oats, alfalfa, and hydroponically grown sprouts. Pigs are raised outside on 60 acres and fed skim milk and organic grains. All products are free of added antibiotics and hormones.
