Family farm offering fresh eggs, vegetables, fiber goods, and handmade soaps in Shelton, CT.
East Village Farm, LLC. is a small family-owned farm in the White Hills section of Shelton, Connecticut, established in May 1998 by Bob and Darlene Mingrone. The farm began with four lambs and grew to include sheep, llamas, alpacas, angora rabbits, and chickens. Today it produces vegetables grown to organic standards, fresh brown eggs, handmade soaps, handwoven scarves and blankets, beeswax candles, and handspun hand-dyed yarn. Products are available at the Shelton Farmers Market on Saturdays from May through October, at Jones's Family Farms in Shelton, and directly at the farm throughout the year.
East Village Farm grows its vegetables to organic standards and collects fresh brown eggs from its flock of chickens. Yarn is produced entirely on the farm: raw fiber from the sheep, llamas, and alpacas is washed, carded, dyed, and hand-spun into uniquely textured skeins. Soaps are made in small batches using natural ingredients. Beeswax candles are hand-rolled with cotton wicks.
