Dufresne's Sugar House is a family-run maple sugar farm in Williamsburg, Massachusetts, with four generations of sugarmaking experience stretching back to Canada. The operation runs approximately 6,000 taps and produces around 1,000 gallons of maple syrup per year. Products include maple syrup in all four grades (golden, amber, dark, and very dark), maple cream, maple candy, granulated maple sugar, maple sugar blocks, and maple tins. Retail sizes suit home use and gift-giving, while commercial quantities in cases and 5-gallon containers are available for bakeries and restaurants. Dufresne's Sugar House is certified organic. Sap is collected through a tubing system installed and maintained year-round across the farm's forested property. The evaporator is fired exclusively with locally harvested and seasoned wood, using between 40 and 60 cords per season. After boiling, maple syrup is filtered and bottled on site. The operation combines a modern pressurized tubing and cleaning system with sugarmaking methods refined over more than 100 years.
