Small family farm selling grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, and seasonal poultry at the farm gate.
Diversity Farms is a small, family-run farm in Stouffville, Ontario, raising grass-fed, grass-finished beef and free-range eggs year-round, with free-range meat chickens and turkeys raised seasonally. The farm also produces unpasteurized raw honey and hard-neck garlic. Customers can purchase individual cuts of frozen beef, from a single steak to a quarter cow, with custom cutting available. Eggs are sold on an honour-system self-serve basis at the farm. The farm operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not sell through stores, markets, or dealers. All meat is processed in provincially inspected facilities.
Diversity Farms raises a small herd of cattle that graze outdoors year-round on grasses, legumes, and herbs, with no grains, corn, or silage at any stage. Calves nurse from their mothers for approximately eight months. The farm uses no hormones, antibiotics, or synthetic chemicals on any of its animals. Chickens and turkeys are free-range, spending time outdoors and foraging to supplement a commercial grain feed. Eggs are sold unwashed, with the natural bloom intact. The farm introduced Pinzgauer cattle, an alpine breed, into its herd in 2010, and also experiments with other breeds.
