Fifth-generation family farm raising 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef in southern Indiana.
Denny's Grass-fed Beef is a family-owned farm operated by John and Christina Denny in Pekin, Indiana. John is a fifth-generation farmer on this land, with the family's farming heritage spanning more than 170 years. After a background in dairy cattle, he transitioned to raising beef and has been producing grass-fed, grass-finished beef since 2006. The farm runs a herd of around 50 cows and two bulls, with calving seasons in both spring and fall. Beef is sold as individual cuts, bulk boxes, and by the half or full side, with orders available for farm pickup. Cattle are processed at a USDA-inspected facility. Learn more on their About Page.
Denny's Grass-fed Beef raises cattle that are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, with no grain fed at any point. During summer, cows rotate through pastures on a rotational grazing system. The farm harvests a mix of grasses and legumes as chopped haylage, stored in silage bags to provide high-quality forage through the winter months. No GMO seeds are planted, and no glyphosate or other herbicides are sprayed on the farmland. Cattle have free access to mineral and sea salt year-round. No growth hormones or routine feed antibiotics are used; the focus is instead on animal husbandry practices and genetics to support herd health. If an individual animal requires antibiotic treatment, it is removed from the grass-fed beef program.
