Covey Rise Farms

Covey Rise Farms is a first-generation family farm operated by Charlie and Kerissa Payne in western Kansas. The farm began in 2015 and has sold direct to consumers since 2018, originally in Ohio before the Paynes relocated their entire operation to Kansas in 2023. Covey Rise Farms raises Angus beef, pasture-raised pork, and pasture-raised chicken, selling individual cuts, shares, and a Covey Club subscription. Alongside the meat business, the farm has expanded into custom cattle feeding for other producers and row crops. Charlie holds a degree in Natural Resources Conservation with a minor in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech, and applies that background to the farm's land management.
