Overview

Nonprofit Jewish community farm with a pay-what-you-can farm stand selling certified organic produce, herbs, and flowers.

Coastal Roots Farm is a nonprofit Jewish community farm and education center founded in 2014 in Encinitas, California. It stewards 17 acres on the larger Leichtag Commons property, growing more than 60 varieties of seasonal vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers. The farm runs a pay-what-you-can Farm Stand open to everyone, accepting cash, credit, Apple Pay, and CalFresh EBT, with up to $30 of free produce available per visit to those in need. More than 70% of the annual harvest is shared with San Diegans facing food insecurity. Beyond the farm stand, Coastal Roots Farm offers farm tours, farm camp, field trips, nature play, farm-to-table dinners, and a coffee cart and farm store. Learn more on their About Page.
