Family-run blueberry and blackberry farm known for its signature nickel-size blueberries, available pick-your-own or pre-picked.
Chautauqua Hills Farm is a family-owned berry farm in Chautauqua County, Kansas, known for its signature nickel-size blueberries. The land was purchased in 2006, the first blueberry bushes were planted in 2009, and berries became available to the public in 2010. The Chadick family has owned and operated the farm since 2014. Customers can pick their own berries by reservation, order pre-picked berries for pickup, or find the farm's produce at farmers markets and select Wichita-area restaurants. The growing season typically runs June through July. In 2013, the Kansas Rural Center recognized the farm as its "Quality Foods Farm Brand." Learn more on their About Page.
Chautauqua Hills Farm grows its blueberries and blackberries using sustainable and organic products and methods, with no conventional pesticides and no traditional herbicides. The farm's approach centers on improving soil biology, microbial activity, and plant vigor, with a commitment to preserving on-site biodiversity. The property benefits from an abundance of native pollinators, including native bees, bumblebees, and carpenter bees, which support the berry crop naturally.
