Wild-caught Alaskan seafood fishmonger and sport fish processor, operating dockside since 1997.
Captain Jack's Seafood Locker is a locally owned and operated fishmonger and fish processing facility that has been based on the docks of Seward, Alaska since 1997. It began as a small packaging and shipping facility for sport-caught fish, then expanded to source and sell premium wild Alaskan seafood directly to consumers. The shop's product range includes halibut, sockeye and coho salmon, red king crab, snow crab, Pacific cod, rockfish, and scallops, all sold fresh-frozen. Captain Jack's also provides sport fish processing services for anglers, handling catch from weigh-in through cutting, vacuum packaging, blast-freezing, and boxing for transport home. The business works with select local fishing families to source its products. Learn more on their About Page.
Captain Jack's Seafood Locker sources exclusively from sustainable fisheries and works with select local fishing families who share its standards for wild Alaskan seafood. All products are wild-caught, hand-trimmed, and packaged with care. For sport fish processing, the business uses industrial-grade vacuum packing equipment and commercial blast freezers operated at 40 degrees below zero, with holding freezers at 20 degrees below zero, to lock in same-day-caught texture and flavor. A customer tracking system follows each angler's catch from initial weigh-in all the way through to final packaging, guaranteeing that the fish returned to a customer are the fish that customer caught. The business utilizes quality guidelines and technical resources developed specifically for the Alaska seafood industry and requires high standards in plant sanitation.
