First-generation family farm selling USDA-inspected beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, and locally sourced goods.
Bodine Farms is a first-generation, family-owned farm that raises beef, pork, lamb, and chicken and sells them direct from its on-farm store. All livestock are cut and packaged by USDA-inspected facilities and sold under the Bodine Farms brand. Beyond meat, the farm also carries pasture-raised eggs, local honey, and in-season canned items made from family recipes. It co-ops with other local family farms to help meet demand for local products. The farm also offers sourdough bread and a dehydrated sourdough starter. Learn more on their About Page.
Cattle at Bodine Farms have year-round access to hay planted specifically for livestock grazing, plus chopped corn silage, grains, and vitamins and minerals. Beef is typically dry-aged at least 10 days before custom cutting and packaging. No hormones are ever fed to the cattle. Antibiotics are used only when deemed necessary for animal health, and all withdrawal periods are strictly followed. Pigs have full pasture and hay access alongside a grain and vitamin diet. The farm raises both commercial and heritage hog breeds, including Mulefoot, Tamworth, Hereford, and Red Wattle, selected for marbling and flavor. Meat chickens are raised in houses with windows for natural light and perches for roosting, and are never fed hormones or steroids. Egg-laying hens are raised cage-free outdoors on a separate farm with access to grasses and grains, and are never fed hormones or steroids. Swales direct storm water to sediment ponds for filtration.
