Ventura County apiary selling raw, unfiltered honey, bee-inspired gifts, and artisan foods from a family-run Honey House.
Blue Ridge Honey is a family-owned apiary and retail honey house rooted in Ventura County beekeeping, which began as a family hobby in the late 1970s. The operation has grown to about 1,600 colonies working floral sources across the Ojai Valley, Ventura County, and beyond. It produces raw, unfiltered honey in Orange Blossom, Avocado Blossom, Sage, Wildflower, Buckwheat, and Raspberry Blossom, plus seasonal varieties. Honey is sold in one-pound, three-pound, and three-and-three-quarter-pound jars, squeeze jars, and bear bottles. The public retail Honey House also carries artisan pantry foods, natural body care, pollen, propolis, beeswax, tonics, bee-inspired gifts, and books. It also hosts pollinator education programs, family events, and a Bee Club membership program. Learn more on their About Page.
Blue Ridge Honey describes its honey as raw and unfiltered, sourced from its own colonies working floral sources in and around the Ojai Valley and Ventura County. The business states that its honey is never imported. A large percentage of the honey is sourced directly from the Ojai Valley region. The apiary uses bee pollination services to support local growers, a practice that has been part of the operation since it transitioned from a hobby to a business in the mid-1980s. The shop also carries specialty honeys sourced from other regions of the United States, distinguished from its own Ventura County honey line.
