Blue Gate Farm

Blue Gate Farm holds Certified Naturally Grown certification and grows all produce without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, going beyond what Organic certification requires by also forgoing permitted chemical sprays and treatments. The farm focuses on building healthy soil through composting, crop rotation, cover crops, and integrated pest management. It also maintains flowers for pollinators, pursues prairie restoration, and practices responsible management of its timber and wetlands. All produce meets or exceeds Certified Naturally Grown and USDA Organic standards and is grown entirely on the farm. Preserves are made from the farm's own chemical-free fruits, peppers, herbs, and flowers, plus wild-harvested ingredients from the family land. Fiber products use alpaca from the farm's own animals, wool from Iowa shepherds, and commercial wools produced in the US.
