Blended Pastures Farmstead is a multi-generational family farm in Woodland, Alabama, raising cattle and producing tallow-based goods. In 2024, the farm opened The Farmstand to sell beef, eggs, sourdough bread, and jelly directly to families. It also produces a full line of tallow skincare, including whipped tallow, lotion, balm, and soaps, along with a tallow-based dish soap designed to be safe for cast iron. Three generations are actively involved in the farm's daily work. The farm sells beef primarily in person at The Farmstand, where rotating cuts include steaks, roasts, ground beef, and short ribs. Blended Pastures Farmstead raises its cattle on pasture. The cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished. The tallow used in all skincare and soap products is rendered from these pasture-raised animals. Soaps are made using a cold-process method, in which lye is fully consumed during saponification and is not present in the finished bar. The farm follows a short-ingredient-list approach, avoiding additives that do not improve a product's function or feel, and lists all ingredients clearly on each product. Scents, when used, come from essential oils or natural fragrance blends and are kept balanced rather than heavy. All tallow products are made in small batches.
