Black Dog Bees & Maple Trees

Black Dog Bees & Maple Trees is a member of the Certified Naturally Grown community and operates without synthetic chemicals across both its beekeeping and maple operations. Lead beekeeper Jennifer holds a Cornell Certified Master Beekeeper certification, the highest level of beekeeping expertise, and follows best practices to maintain colony health without synthetic chemicals. Bees forage locally in New Hampshire woods, fields, and yards, and honey is harvested only when colonies have produced a surplus beyond their own winter needs. The honey undergoes minimal filtration to remove wax particles and is never pasteurized, keeping it raw. For maple syrup, the farm taps only mature, healthy trees following sustainable forestry practices, uses reverse osmosis to concentrate the sap, and finishes each small batch in a wood-fired evaporator. Syrup is meticulously filtered, graded, and bottled on site.
