Overview
Micro dairy raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats and offering raw goat milk via herd share in Sedalia, Colorado
Black Barn Hollow is a family-run micro dairy nestled in the ponderosa pine forest of Sedalia, Colorado, specializing in Nigerian Dwarf Goat milk and goat breeding. The farm operates a herd share program, which under Colorado law is the required structure for consumers to access raw goat milk. Milking season runs approximately 34 weeks, from March through November. Beyond fresh raw milk, Black Barn Hollow offers small-batch artisan dairy products, including yogurt, ice cream, and cheese, available to herd share members. The farm also produces a skin care line made with its own raw goat milk, including cold-process soaps, lotions, lip balms, and body scrubs. Visitors are welcome to tour the farm and meet the herd. Learn more on their About Page.
Black Barn Hollow raises its Nigerian Dwarf Goats on clean pastures with room to roam, and applies what it describes as ethical and sustainable farming practices. The farm keeps its herd small by design, which it states allows it to maintain high cleanliness standards and food safety. Raw milk is tested frequently, and the farm promotes safe storage and transportation practices for members. The operation favors sustainable choices such as reusable packaging and eco-friendly cleaning procedures. Milk pickups use a bottle-return system: members return rinsed bottles each week so they can be sanitized and refilled. The skin care line is made in small batches using cold-process methods, with goat milk, oils, and essential oils, and no added synthetic fragrances.
