Diverse organic farm in the Ozarks raising vegetables, cattle, and poultry
Beyond Organics Farm is a 120-acre working farm in the Boston Mountains, part of the Ozarks foothills, with land along the West Fork of the White River. It is owned and operated by Jane and James Maginot, who founded the farm in 2009 starting with just 12 acres. The farm grows year-round vegetables and raises cattle, laying hens, and meat birds. Beyond Organics sells its produce and products at the West Fork Farmers Market from March through November. The Maginots describe their mission as growing fresh, nutrient-dense, healthful food that replenishes rather than depletes the land. Learn more on their About Page.
Beyond Organics Farm operates as an open farm, forgoing formal certifications in favor of direct transparency: visitors are welcome to come out and inspect firsthand how the food is raised. The farm's stated goal is to use its practices to improve the land and create a system in which the food and its byproducts repair and nourish the soil from which they come. Visitors are asked to call or text ahead to confirm someone is available, and to be mindful of gates, electric fencing, and animals while on the property.
