Fourth-generation Central Valley farm selling dried fruits, nuts, nut butters, and homemade jams at California farmers markets.
Avila and Sons Farms is a family-owned and operated farm in Hanford, California, with roots going back four generations in San Joaquin Valley agriculture. David Avila began farming independently in 1969, growing fruits and nuts, and the farm took its current shape in 1974 when the family combined Portuguese and California farming traditions. In 1983, the family began selling directly to the public at farmers markets. Today, the farm offers specialty dried fruits, roasted and flavored nuts, small-batch nut butters, and homemade jams, available at farmers markets across California and through online ordering. Gift bundles and gift cards are also available. Learn more on their About Page.
Avila and Sons Farms grows its crops on 40 acres, where pistachios, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, peaches, nectarines, apricots, cherries, plums, figs, grapes, apples, persimmons, and pomegranates are cultivated. Growing, picking, drying, roasting, jam-making, and nut butter production all take place on the farm. The farm describes its production as ethically produced, and its crops as farm-to-table since the business began. The nut butters are made in small batches on the farm. Customers can return used nut butter jars at a local farmers market for recycling in exchange for a discount on their next purchase.
