Augustus Ranch Meat Company is a family-owned ranch tracing its roots to 1890, when August Kaspar settled in Gonzales County, Texas. His great-grandson Dennis Kaspar, who began ranching in 1985 after graduating from Texas A&M, carries on that legacy alongside his wife and family. The ranch produces pasture-finished beef, heritage breed pork, and small-batch pasture-finished chicken. Customers can purchase through meat bundle subscriptions or bulk beef shares in eighth, quarter, half, and whole portions. Augustus Ranch Meat Company raises its beef with no antibiotics or hormones, ever. Cattle are pasture-finished using a custom finishing program that includes barley, flax, and forage. Pork comes from heritage breed hogs. Chickens are raised in small batches, finished on pasture, and fed an organically sourced diet. All livestock is ranch-raised near Shiner, Texas, allowing the business to verify the source of every animal it sells.
