Arlington Crest Farms is a sustainable, diversified farm growing a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Founded in 2016 by owner and operator Dan Pilguy, a Palatine native, the farm grew out of a CSA launched in 2014 and officially opened with 35 members. The farm operates on its home plot as well as additional land provided by neighbors. Seasonal produce reaches customers through a CSA program, an on-site farm shop, and local restaurants. Arlington Crest Farms uses organic farming practices across its growing operation. These include crop rotation, diversified planting, and the incorporation of on-site biomass and food waste as compost. The compost approach is designed to attract beneficial organisms and naturally manage pests.
