Family farm raising grassfed Dexter beef, free-range eggs, and raw honey, with handmade bath and body products.
Wholemade Farm is a family-owned operation specializing in grassfed Dexter beef, free-range eggs, raw unheated unfiltered honey, and handmade milk-and-honey bath and body products. The Stegman family has raised Dexter cattle for over 25 years, choosing the breed for its dual-purpose milk-and-meat qualities, smaller size, and hardiness in the cold prairie climate. Beef is sold by the whole, half, or quarter. The farm's product line also includes soaps, lip balm, body cream, deodorant, felted soap, rag rugs, and hand-knit mittens. The name 'Wholemade' comes from a family saying: handcrafted, pure, natural, and locally produced. Learn more on their About Page.
Wholemade Farm has practiced regenerative agriculture and management-intensive grazing for over 20 years. The Dexter herd is raised grass-fed and grass-finished, free of steroids, antibiotics, grains, and hormones. The cattle are rotationally grazed on 75 acres of mixed alfalfa, grasses, clover, and sainfoin, receiving fresh pasture one to three times per day. In winter, the farm uses bale grazing, placing hay strategically in pasture to spread manure as natural fertilizer. Free-range chickens are fed available organic grains along with seeds, sprouts, greens, and natural enzymes and minerals, with no soy, hormones, antibiotics, vaccinations, synthetic vitamins, or medications.
