Small vegetable farm and farmstand offering CSA shares and seasonal produce in Wrentham, MA
White Barn Farm is a small vegetable farm and farmstand in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Christy Raymond founded the farm in 2008, and Chris Kantlehner joined in 2009. The farm offers two CSA programs: a farmer-selected weekly share and a CSA card to spend flexibly at the farmstand. A Virtual Winter Market allows customers to place orders online for Friday pickup at the barn. The farm focuses on seasonal vegetables grown with organic methods, aiming to inspire locals to cook and eat in step with the seasons. Learn more on their About Page.
White Barn Farm uses organic farming methods throughout its operation. The farm never uses genetically modified seeds and purchases only organically grown cover crop seeds. Seeds are started in Fort Vee, an organic compost-based potting soil made by Vermont Compost. For pest management, the farm uses only OMRI-certified products, including Bt and Neem, and relies on physical exclusion methods such as Reemay cloth, insect netting, and hoophouse screens. Fertilizer is OMRI-certified granular formula, with applications guided by annual soil tests. Seedlings are fed with fish and seaweed emulsion from Neptune's Harvest. All harvesting is done by hand, followed by washing at an on-farm wash station and prompt cold storage. Weed management combines tractor cultivation with a Farmall Cub, hand hoeing, and targeted hand-weeding.
