Family-owned farm raising 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Black Angus crossbred beef since 1970.
Wagon Wheel Ranch is a 200-acre family-owned farm that has been in operation since 1970. It raises antibiotic-free, hormone-free, all-natural, grass-fed, grass-finished, free-range Black Angus crossbred beef. The ranch sells individual retail cuts including steaks, roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts such as oxtail, liver, and marrow bones. Customers can purchase cuts at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, or arrange local pickup by contacting the ranch directly. Only calves born, raised, and finished on the ranch are offered for sale.
Wagon Wheel Ranch uses a three-breed crossbreeding system: purebred Santa Gertrudis cows are bred with a purebred Hereford bull, and their daughters are then bred to a purebred Black Angus bull. Both the Black Angus and Hereford bulls have been DNA tested for tenderness, ribeye size, and additional genetic traits. Cattle are raised on pasture using a sustainable rotation system, with access to shade and fresh well, spring, or creek water at all times. High-quality hay or grass silage is provided during winter or drought conditions. The ranch is certified by A Greener World, holding Animal Welfare Approved certification covering both humane production and the processing facility it uses.
