A Medway farm raising pasture-raised beef, pork, chicken, and eggs, sold at an on-farm honor stand and farmers markets.
The Pumpkin Farm is a diversified livestock farm run by Jason and Nicole Lobisser, with roots going back to 2004 when the family began growing pumpkins for local farm stands. Over the years the operation grew to include beef, pork, chicken, turkey, goat, lamb, and eggs. Livestock is raised on leased land in Millis, while products are sold through a self-serve honor stand in Medway, at seasonal farmers markets, and via online ordering. The farm offers several purchasing formats, including individual cuts, whole and partial cow shares, whole hog packages, a Meat CSA, and an Egg CSA. It is a SNAP-authorized retailer.
The Pumpkin Farm farms without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Heritage hogs are pasture- and woods-raised from farrow to finish, spending their entire lives on the farm. Laying hens and ducks are free range, with access to both pasture and forest to forage for bugs, grass, leaves, and seeds; they are supplemented with a free-choice, all-natural locally milled grain and vegetable scraps. Hens receive no antibiotics or hormones. The farm also raises free-range chickens, ducks, and geese for eggs. Livestock are given ample outdoor space in open fields and forested areas, reflecting the farm's stated commitment to providing a humane environment for its animals.
