Small family farm in the Yukon raising Jersey dairy cows and growing seasonal produce.
Sunnyside Farm is a small family farm situated in the Ibex Valley, just west of Whitehorse, Yukon. It raises a small Jersey cow herd that produces dairy products available exclusively in the Yukon. The farm also grows seasonal produce using a greenhouse, caterpillar tunnel, raised beds, and outdoor garden areas. Products are stocked at several Whitehorse retailers, including grocery stores and specialty food shops. Sunnyside Farm does not use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers on its produce, and it does not use GMO seeds. The farm's Jersey herd is kept small, and animals have access to outdoor fields in the summer months. Poultry are penned with access to an outdoor yard. The farm also supports a business model that works with other local Yukon farmers and agri-businesses.
