Sonrise Farms is a central Illinois farm that converted former corn and soybean cropland into a pasture-based operation. It raises grass-finished beef cattle and sources pasture-raised chickens, selling both through an on-farm store open on Saturdays. The farm also offers biweekly subscription pickup for raw milk, raw cream, raw butter, raw cottage cheese, and farm-fresh eggs sourced from small family farms. Beef is available as individual cuts (steaks, roasts, ground beef, patties, jerky) or in bulk freezer orders by the half or quarter. Farm classes are also offered. Gift certificates are available. Sonrise Farms raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef cattle, with the herd rotated to a fresh section of pasture every day of the growing season. No antibiotics, hormones, or grain supplements are used in the beef program, and all beef is dry-aged for 14 to 21 days before packaging. Pasture-raised chickens are kept in portable pasture shelters and fed non-GMO grains with organic minerals; no hormones or antibiotics are added. The farm's chickens are raised by a partner family farm and processed before sale at the Sonrise Farms store. Raw milk and dairy products offered through subscription come from Anna Belle Farm and E. Z. Acres Farm, described as small family farms producing organic, 100% grass-fed raw milk and dairy. Farm-fresh eggs available by subscription are sourced from Sunset View Poultry Farm.
