Roman Heritage Farms is an 11-acre regenerative farm in Sunset, Texas, founded by Lou Roman in 2016. The farm raises IPP pigs, sheep, ducks, and chickens on open pasture. Products include pasture-raised chicken (whole birds and cuts), pork, lamb, eggs, and dog treats. Roman Heritage Farms also runs an Egg Share program, through which subscribers receive two dozen pasture-raised eggs every two weeks across a ten-month market season. All animals at Roman Heritage Farms are raised on pasture and fed a soy-free, non-GMO, corn-free diet with no antibiotics or hormones. Feed is sourced from a local mill, which allows the farm to add specific vitamins and minerals for each animal species. The farm follows what it describes as "beyond organic" practices: animals have continuous access to fresh water, sunshine, grass, and forage, and are never confined to cages. Rotational grazing is used to manage the land sustainably. The farm describes its overall approach as regenerative agriculture, prioritizing humane animal care and minimal environmental impact.
