Family-owned Idaho apiary producing raw, pure honey in clover, wildflower, flavored, and whipped varieties.
Rocky Mountain Honey Co. is a family-owned apiary based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with roots going back to 1992. It was rebranded under its current name in 2017 by David Dance, a third-generation beekeeper who acquired the original operation in 2015. The company produces USA Grade A honey across a wide range of styles, including raw clover, wildflower, flavored varieties, whipped and creamed honey, honey straws, and beeswax products. It also carries regionally branded lines sourced from specific areas of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Rocky Mountain Honey Co. holds an Idaho Preferred designation and supplies retailers across Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. Learn more on their About Page.
Rocky Mountain Honey Co. sources its raw honey from Beaverhead Honey Company, a sister operation with hives in Dillon, Montana and Idaho Falls, and from a network of beekeepers across Idaho, Utah, and Montana. After harvest, frames are spun in a centrifuge-style extractor to pull honey from the comb without damaging it. The honey is then run through a series of mesh screens to remove debris such as bee parts and wax, while allowing pollen, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes to pass through. The business describes its honey as unfiltered on those grounds. Before bottling, honey is gently warmed only enough to reduce crystallization; the company states it never overheats the honey to avoid pasteurization. Every jar is bottled as a USA Grade A product.
