Nonprofit volunteer-run urban farm growing and donating fresh produce to food-insecure families and food pantries.
Happyville Farm is a one-acre nonprofit urban farm operated entirely by volunteers on land leased from the city. It grows vegetables and other produce for donation to the Community Food Basket and directly to food-insecure families, seniors, and soup kitchens. The farm also runs a farm stand offering fresh produce. Volunteers of all ages contribute to planting, tending, and harvesting. Beyond growing food, the farm serves as a school garden for local students and hosts classes on topics including beekeeping, composting, soil science, water conservation, and sustainable native plants. It runs on grants, donations, and community fundraisers. Learn more on their About Page.
Happyville Farm uses ecologically friendly farming and gardening techniques as part of its core mission. The farm employs high tunnels to extend the growing season and enable harvests throughout the year, including winter months.
