Pastured broiler chickens, pasture-raised eggs, and seasonal vegetables from a 10-acre regenerative farm.
OwlTree Farm is a 10-acre regenerative farm founded in 2020 by Forrest Carlson and Brett Beardmore. It raises pastured broiler chickens, produces pasture-raised eggs from a flock of heritage and specialty breeds, and grows a rotating selection of seasonal vegetables and herbs. Produce is available through a seasonal CSA membership program, a 24/7 self-serve roadside stand open from May through October, and direct sales to local restaurants including The Regional, FOCO Cafe, and Little on Mountain. The farm also offers a Flock Share membership for direct access to pastured chicken on a recurring basis. OwlTree Farm operates under the principles of regenerative agriculture and permaculture, with a stated mission to demonstrate and promote local food production. Learn more on their About Page.
OwlTree Farm applies regenerative agriculture and permaculture methods across its operation. Specific practices include no-till bio-intensive gardening, silvopasture, intensive rotational grazing, and a food-forest orchard system, all aimed at building topsoil and conserving water and fuel resources. Broiler chickens are moved to fresh pasture each day and fed a regionally sourced organic feed to supplement their diet of grass, weeds, and insects. All poultry is fed a regionally sourced ration described as organic, corn-free, and soy-free when possible, rotationally grazed on clean pastures, and processed directly on the farm. The farm also aggregates produce from other local farms for its stand on a selective basis.
