Our Ancestors' Foods is a family-owned farm in Brevard County operated by the Calligaro family, whose farming roots span generations. The farm was founded by Leo Calligaro, who drew on his family's heritage and a personal health journey to raise meat the way his ancestors did. It sells grass-fed and grass-finished beef, pasture-raised pork, and seasonally available lamb, packaged as curated boxes and bulk whole-animal shares. All meat is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen after processing at a USDA-inspected facility. Beef is raised for 22 to 26 months on open Florida pasture, longer than conventional production timelines. Our Ancestors' Foods raises its cattle 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, with no grain feeding at any stage of life. Animals are never given routine antibiotics or added growth hormones, and cattle are raised on open pasture without feedlots. The farm's pigs are pasture-raised heritage breeds, including Berkshire and Duroc, and are kept outdoors to root and forage naturally. Lamb is raised on the farm in limited, seasonal quantities. All animals are processed at a USDA-inspected facility, then flash-frozen and vacuum-sealed. The farm practices whole-animal utilization, selling balanced boxes and bulk shares (from an eighth up to a whole animal) rather than individual cuts, in order to reduce waste and support sustainable harvest schedules. Organ meats and bones are available upon request based on harvest availability.
