Pasture-raised chickens and low-PUFA eggs from a regenerative South Florida farm.
Nourished Pastures is a Miami-based farm owned and operated by Guillermo, who began raising chickens to provide his family with ethically raised food before expanding into a full farm operation. The farm produces pasture-raised broiler chickens and fresh eggs. Its eggs are fed a custom low-PUFA feed formulated without corn, soy, flax, safflower, sunflower seeds, or seed oils, and hens also forage on pasture insects and grasses. Nourished Pastures sells direct to home customers via online ordering with farm-to-doorstep delivery, and supplies restaurants as well. The farm is a member of the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association (APPPA). Learn more on their About Page.
Nourished Pastures describes its approach as "beyond organic" and regenerative. Chickens are raised in mobile, open-floored pens that are moved daily to a fresh patch of pasture, giving birds continuous access to insects, green forage, fresh air, and sunlight. The farm raises its animals without antibiotics, vaccines, or growth hormones, citing daily movement and pasture rotation as the foundation of animal health. Hens receive a custom low-PUFA feed (Angel Acres) that contains no corn, soy, or high-PUFA ingredients, and are supplemented with beef meat scraps, fruits, and vegetables. Humane handling and a stress-free environment are stated priorities. The daily rotation of pens spreads manure across the pasture, which the farm identifies as the basis of its regenerative farming claim.
